Cancun, Q.R. — Elements of the Quintana Roo Police arrested five armed people in Cancun who were found traveling in a public taxi.
According to the provided report, police were conducing routine surveillance tours when they noticed that a taxi accelerated when seeing them. Police pursued and stopped the taxi. Inside, they found a .45 caliber firearm and cartridges.
Under a seat, police discovered a second firearm, a .9mm caliber gun along with a portable radio inside a backpack. All five inside the taxi were taken into custody and transferred to the Quintana Roo Police facilities.
Authorities identified the detainees as 32-year-old Juan José N, Santos N, 28, Carlos Alberto N, 24, José Guadalupe N, 20 and César N, 57.
