Cancun, Q.R. — An early morning accident between a car and bus on Chac Mool Avenue in Cancun left one person dead. Cancun Transit were at the scene around 7:00 a.m. due to reports of the two vehicle crash.
Cancun Transit officers were left to figure out which one of the two vehicles ran a red light, crashing into the second involved vehicle. The city bus and private car collided at the intersection of Chac-Mool and Miguel Hidalgo.
Paramedics responding to the request for medical help arrived to find a seriously injured male driver behind the wheel of the private car. His front seat passenger, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was rushed to hospital where, local media have reported, he underwent emergency surgery. The driver of the city bus was taken into custody by Transit officials for questioning.
