Cancun, Q.R. — Two Cancun police officers were transferred to hospital Friday after being hit by a car. The two officers were patrolling city streets on a motorcycle when a private vehicle hit them.

Ambulance and Cancun Transit were at the site of the afternoon accident on Avenida Niños Héroes in response to reports. Cancun officers Eduardo “M” and Ruth del Carmen “O” were injured in the accident.
Both were transferred to the Jesús Kumate Rodríguez General Hospital for medical attention after being assisted by paramedics under the command of Alejandro Arzate López.
According to police, the driver of the private car, 35 year old Manuel Antonio “O”, was attempting a U-turn Friday night. In doing so, he entered the oncoming lane and collided with the police motorcycle.
