Cancun, Q. R. — The driver of a motorcycle was killed after slamming into the back of a stopped truck. The accident happened on Avenida 20 de Noviembre shortly after 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
The truck was stopped at a red light when the motorcycle came up from behind. It is not clear why the driver failed to noticed the stopped vehicle in front, however, he hit the back of the truck at full speed.
Paramedics responding to the call pronounced the man on scene after being thrown from his bike. According to reports, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The motorcycle had license plates from the state of Oaxaca.
The driver of the truck involved left the scene, but was located by police several blocks from the site of the accident in SM 76.
