Cancun military medical facility to open for non-serious patients

Cancun, Q. R. — Cancun mayor Mara Lezama inspects new facilities that will be used for coronavirus patients. The military medical facility, which is scheduled to open in coming days, will be dedicated to non-serious patients.

Lezama was on site with General Horacio Flores, commander of the Cancun Military Garrison, to tour the facilities of what will be another hospital. The hospital will have 22 beds for women and 23 for men.

Dr. Radames Kloeppel Angulo noted that the facility will be for coronavirus patients who are not deemed to be in serious condition, since there is no intensive therapy. In Cancun, it will be the only one since there is an intensive care hospital in Tulum as well as in Chetumal where the Ministry of National Defense also has an intensive care hospital.

They will have a staff of 15 doctors, 12 nurses, six secretaries and six insurance workers in addition to trained personnel from the same military zone in Cancun.
