Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun man wanted for the attempted rape and murder of a local girl was arrested in Texas. Over the weekend, the State Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo reported on the arrest of Carlos “Z”.
According to the local police agency, Carlos “Z” was captured in San Marcos, Texas, after collaborative work with the U.S. Office of Detention and Deportation. An immigration judge is currently reviewing the case for deportation.
According to the FGE, Carlos “Z” was arrested for his alleged participation in the attempted rape and murder of an unidentified female (girl) victim that took place May 16, 2021 in the irregular settlement of Santa Cecilia on the suburbs of Cancun.
“The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo is in contact with the Attorney General of the Republic and with those of the neighboring country to carry out the controlled deportation and transfer of Carlos “Z” to the state of Quintana Roo where he will face charges,” the agency said.
