Cancun, Q.R. — One of the two people injured by a gas explosion Wednesday afternoon was transferred to hospital with serious burns. The LP explosion happened in a private home of the Haciendas Real subdivision in Region 200 of Cancun.
Emergency personnel responded to the 911 report, arriving to find a woman and her adult son inside the home. The man was transferred to hospital with second degree burns.
The explosion happened in the kitchen of the home, causing substantial damage.
Responding firefighters examined the area and determined that the origin of the explosion was due to a leak in one of the cylinders due to oxidation.
