Cancun, Q. R. — A man was arrested in Cancun Friday for armed robbery. The Secretary of Citizen Security reported on the arrest of Alejandro “N”, “for his probable participation in the crime of robbery with violence and carrying, manufacturing, importing and collecting prohibited weapons.”
Alejandro “N” was taken into custody from SM 231 near Leona Vicario Avenue after police saw a man “raise his hands desperately and shout for help, while the second man ran towards Leona Vicario Avenue to get to a white motorcycle that was parked a few meters from where they both were.”
The man requesting police help told them he had been a victim of robbery, which lead police in search of the man on the motorcycle. Cancun officers were able to locate the man and return him to the scene where he was positively identified.
During a physical inspection of Alejandro “N”, police found a 27-centimetre knife with a black plastic handle, eight bills that totaled 160 Mexican peso and a purple cell phone.
