Cancun, Q.R. — Police officers in Cancun have taken a man into custody for the death of his wife after responding to a neighbor complaint of family violence. The call was made to Emergency 911 who sent officers to the home located in the Libertad neighborhood.
When they arrived, the door was answered by the man who responded to the allegations of family violence saying his wife was not feeling well. However, officers were able to see her bruised and bloodied laying on a bed.
An ambulance was requested. Medical personnel arrived only to verify the woman had died. Taken into custody was 33-year-old Joel N for homicide.
Police interviewed the neighbor who made the call. She stated that shouts were heard from her neighbor asking for help and an ambulance. When she approached the house, she saw the woman laying on the bed, at which time she called emergency services.
