Cancun man arrested for being obnoxious investigated for 70 city business robberies

Cancun, Q.R. — A man taken into custody for disobedience and resistance is now facing more than 70 robbery charges. On Friday, Cancun police arrested Fabian “N” for “Disobedience and Resistance of Individuals,” the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) reported.

Since his arrest, police learned he has likely been involved in more than 70 city business robberies in less than two years. “Between 2023 and so far in 2024, this person is presumed to have perpetrated more than 70 robberies in businesses in Cancun,” the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) reported in a statement.

“During surveillance tours, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security noticed a male who unexpectedly crossed the street, so the officers stopped the patrol car to avoid an accident and lowered the window to see if he needed help. At that moment, this person began to slap the hood of the unit and insult the officers.

“The events occurred on Calle 57 Norte between Avenida José López Portillo and Calle 16 in  SM 91 of Cancun where he was arrested,” they reported.

He is currently being held in police custody while they continue their investigation into his alleged involvement in city crimes.
