Cancun, Q.R. — A known Cancun loan shark was shot Monday morning during an attempted mugging. The man, identified only as a Colombian, was shot while resisting being robbed after collecting money from a client.

Police were called to an address off Tulipán Street in the Prado Norte subdivision of Cancun where they located the injured man.
According to the 911 report, two armed men intercepted him while he was receiving money from one of his clients. After attempting to rob him of the cash, the attackers shot him when he resisted.
The Colombian man was transported to Cancun hospital in critical conditon after being shot seveal times. Police are looking for the shooters who resident witnesses said fled on a motorcycle.

During their search operation, police found the bike abandoned on Machiche Street in the same neighborhood. Police continue to look for the gunmen.
