Cancun, Q.R. — A wanted man in the kidnapping of a Cancun resident has been captured in Chiapas. On Monday, Jorge Luis “N” was arrested by Chiapas authorities on an outstanding arrest warrant from October of 2023.
Last year, the State Attorney General (FGE) of Quintana Roo issued a 500,000 peso reward for information that lead to his capture.
Quintana Roo authorities reported his holiday capture after an ongoing investigation. Jorge Luis “N” was located in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez in the state of Chiapas and taken into legal custody.
He has since been transferred to Quintana Roo.
“After months of traditional, field and technological investigation, Jorge Luis “N” was located in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. With the support of the FGE of Chiapas, he was captured and handed over to elements of the Investigative Police.
“Once the legal procedures were carried out, the detainee was transferred to Cancun,” the agency said in a statement.
