Cancun, Q.R. — A man found guilty of stabbing his victim to death during a parking lot mugging has been sentenced. A Cancun judge has ordered Amir Isaí “N” to spend the next 50 years in prison for the July 2022 homicide.

According to police, Amir Isaí “N” attempted to rob a man in a city parking lot of his money. When the man refused, Amir Isaí “N” stabbed him to death. He has been found guilty of aggravated homicide.
“Amir Isaí “N” was sentenced for events that occurred on July 18, 2022, in the parking lot of a supermarket located in Supermanzana 21 of Cancun. The suspect approached the victim and demanded money. When he refused, the now convicted man attacked him with a knife in various parts of his body, killing him.
“Municipal Police officers, while conducting surveillance patrols, observed the events and arrested the suspect. He tried to escape from the officers but was captured at a convenience store located on Veracruz Avenue and Acapulco Street, where they seized a 19-centimeter metal-bladed knife with blood stains,” police reported.
Following the proceedings, the judge sentenced Amir Isaí “N” to 50 years in prison in addition to paying a fine of 288,660 pesos and compensation for material and moral damages of 982,722 pesos.
