Cancun, Q.R. — A man found guilty of murder has been sentenced to 31 years in prison. A Cancun judge handed down the sentence Wednesday to Víctor Manuel “N”, “for his criminal responsibility for crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of a male victim,” the State Attorney General (FGE) reported.
Víctor Manuel “N” was found guilty for his part in the beating death of a man inside a hotel in the Cancun Hotel Zone in November of 2020. Víctor Manuel “N”, along with two others, beat the man until he fell.
Hotel security guards intervened and stopped the attack. The man was taken to hospital but later died.
“The events attributed to the now sentenced person occurred on November 21, 2020, in a hotel located on Kukulcán Boulevard where Víctor Manuel “N”, along with two other men, hit the victim several times who fell twice to the floor until convulsing.
“Thanks to the intervention of the hotel’s private security personnel, the victim stopped being attacked, however, after he was admitted to a hospital he lost his life.”
During an oral trial Wednesday, a Cancun judge sentenced Víctor Manuel “N” to a penalty of 31 years and three months in prison for qualified homicide and a fine of 623,499 pesos, the FGE said.
