Cancun Hotel Zone to be certified coronavirus free to promote real estate

Cancun, Q.R. –The Cancun real estate sector says that once the coronavirus epidemic ends, the Cancun Hotel Zone will be certified as Covid Free, says AMPI head.

Miguel Ángel Lemus Mateos, president of Cancun AMPI (Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios) says real estate developers are already joining forces for media strategies to promote the state’s economic recovery once the current coronavirus pandemic has been overcome.

Lemus Matoes says that will include obtaining a certification for the Cancun Hotel Zone as Covid Free. He explained that there is already 60 million peso earmarked for real estate advertising, noting that everyone in organized civil society should participate in the revival of the Mexican Caribbean, which is why they are already in talks with a national television station to set up an advertising campaign.

He says 10 real estate developments between Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel have already been invited to contribute approximately one third to the cost, while the state government would contribute another third and the latter third would be absorbed by the television station.

These developments include Mayakobá, Puerto Cancún, Bahía Príncipe, Cancún Country Club, Cumbres, World Trade Center Cancún, Grand Island and Corazón, among others, he detailed.

Lemus Mateos said that they hope that the economic reopening will place at the end of May or the beginning of June, although this will depend on everyone staying at home now and abiding by the preventive measures.

By these dates, he says they hope to obtain a certification for the Cancun Hotel Zone as Covid Free, which they will promote intensively.

“The campaign will be comprehensive, to communicate that investing in Quintana Roo is a smart strategy. It will include spots, interviews, digital campaigns and external announcements,” he said.
