Cancun, Q.R. — Police are investigating what has turned out to be the stabbing death of a hotel worker in the Cancun Hotel Zone. On Tuesday afternoon, the FGE (State Attorney) said they have begun investigating after an argument between two hotel workers turned into murder.
On Monday night, two hotel employees were arguing when one stabbed the other several times. The victim, Chef Julio “N”, was taken to a Cancun hospital after being stabbed four times. He died early Tuesday morning.
The heated argument took place in the kitchen of the hotel. One of the involved workers was the now-deceased hotel chef. The position of the second person involved has not been revealed, however, local authorities say they have identified the person responsible and are waiting on an arrest.
The Attorney General, in a statement Tuesday afternoon, reported “the start of an investigation for the crime of homicide to the detriment of a male person who worked as a chef in a Hotel in the Hotel Zone of Cancun.
“The first investigations and testimonies indicate that this incident could have been a personal fight at the workplace since the victim had injuries from a knife on his right shoulder, left arm, lower back and right lower lip.
“The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating the Crime of Homicide investigates to arrest the alleged person responsible for this unfortunate event, who has been fully identified.”
