Cancun, Q.R. — Firemen were unable to save a home that was left gutted by an afternoon fire. Firefighters rushed to a home in SM 514 in response to a house on fire.
At the scene, Cancun firemen were faced with a fully engulfed home. Flames had already begun shooting out doors and windows that were busted by the intense heat. A quick response time did allow them to extinguish the burning home to prevent the fire from spreading to others nearby.
Cancun firemen, in a brief statement, did not report any injuries. Unfortunately, the home was a total loss.
“Our Cancun Fire Department team responded immediately to the emergency call to put out a fire in a house located in Super Manzana 514. Thanks to the quick intervention of our elements, the fire was controlled, preventing its spread to other homes and no injuries were reported.
“We appreciate the collaboration of the citizens and we remember the importance of maintaining preventive measures at home to avoid this type of incident. In case of emergency, dial 911,” Bomberos Cancún reported.
An investigation into the cause for the devastating fire is still underway.
