Cancun, Q.R. — A 74 year old man was killed Monday in a fatal hit and run while crossing a highway outside Cancun. Police were called to the scene Monday afternoon by witnesses who saw the responsible driver keep going.
The pedestrian hit and run happened behind the Tres Reyes irregular settlement of Cancun. The man was reportdly hit by a truck whose driver failed to stop.
Paramedics were called but the man died before they arrived. The deceased was a local 74 year old who worked at a nearby recycling plant. He was on his way to work at the time of the accident.
National Guard took charge of cordoning off the area while waiting for the body to be removed from the middle of the highway.
