Cancun, Q.R. — The team from the Cancun Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a vacant lot located Friday night. The fire was reported in Supermanzana 70 and is believed started by illegal burning.

Cancun firemen arrived to a fully engulfed area on Francisco I. Madero Avenue also known as Route 4. The fire was reported late Friday night. Firemen were successful in putting it out before it spread to neighboring buildings, the Cancun Fire Department reported.
“Our team from the Cancun Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a vacant lot located in Supermanzana 70, Route 4. Thanks to the quick intervention, the fire was extinguished and controlled, preventing its spread and without any injuries.

“We thank the public for their timely reporting and we remind them of the importance of avoiding illegal burning and throwing flammable objects on vacant lots to prevent fires,” said Bomberos Cancún.
