Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities in Cancun are investigating the cause of a fire that started on a passenger bus Thursday. The bus was traveling Colosio Boulevard when the interior began to fill with smoke.
Cancun firemen were sent to its parked location along the boulevard where the fire was “quickly brought under control”, they reported. Cancun Transit was also at the scene manning traffic around the area until the fire was out.
There were no injuries reported. Authorities did not provide a cause of the fire. In a brief statement, the Cancun fire department commented on the Thursday incident.
“Our personnel from the Cancun Fire Department responded to a report of an incipient fire inside a passenger bus on Blvd. Colosio, which was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.
“This response was carried out in coordination with Cancun Traffic Police and Cancun Civil Protection to ensure the safety of the public in the area.”
