Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The start of a fire in an industrial laundry machine sent Cancun firemen to an Isla Mujeres hotel. Smoke was reported by hotel staff late Thursday night when it was noticed coming from one of the machines.
Firemen from Cancun arrived at the mainland hotel around 10:00 p.m. where they located a laundry machine that had overheated. A large of section of a dryer was found burned and blackened.
“We are at the Excellence Playa Mujeres Hotel responding to the call of a fire report in the machine room area of the laundry. It is already under control. So far there are no injuries,” the Cancun Fire Department reported on social networks.
While there were no injures reported, there was substantial electrical damage.
