Cancun, Q.R. — Members of the Cancun Fire Department freed a trapped driver from behind the wheel of his car Sunday. Firemen were requested at the scene of the single vehicle accident on Huayacán Avenue early Sunday morning.
Once freed, the unnamed driver was taken to hospital. Authorities did not comment on how the male driver crashed his vehicle, however, Bomberos Cancun did make a brief statement.
“In timely response to a vehicle accident, members of the Heroic Cancún Fire Department responded to an emergency call on Huayacán Avenue, where a traffic accident involving a Tsuru-type vehicle was reported.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the driver was identified as trapped inside the vehicle and was immediately and safely extracted using specialized hydraulic tools. Once freed, he received pre-hospital care in coordination with paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross Cancún Delegation, and was subsequently transferred to a hospital for medical evaluation.

“We remind the public of the importance of driving responsibly and respecting speed limits. A second can make the difference between a scare and a tragedy. At Bomberos Cancún, we are prepared to respond to any emergency, but prevention is always the best tool.”
