Cancun extortionist demanding 10,000 a month sentenced to 22 years

Cancun, Q.R. — The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Kidnapping and Extortion won a Cancun extortion case. On Tuesday, authorities reported on the 22 year prison sentenced handed down to Gabriel “N”.

“A Cancun judge handed down a sentence of 22 years and three months in prison for a male person for his participation in the crime of extortion.

“The events for which Gabriel “N” was sentenced occurred between December 4 and 6, 2021, when he sent messages to the victim who is the owner of a clinic located in Cancun,” the FGE said in a statement.

“His messages demanded an initial payment of 50,000 pesos followed by 10,000 pesos per month for “floor rights”.

According to the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), Gabriel “N” continued sending numerous messages to the victim, even shooting at the facade of the building. He was finally arrested on December 6, 2021, when he was outside the property owned by the victim.
