Cancun, Q.R. — Municipal police arrested two youths Thursday who were reported for attempting to extort a business owner. According to authorities, Jaret “N”, 22 and Juan Pablo “N”, 26 were arrested for extortion and possession of a firearm.
The capture of Juan Pablo “N” was made after a business owner reported the extortion attempt. The two captured youths were positively identified by the victim.
“Agents of the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security of Benito Juárez arrested two individuals who respond to the names of Jaret “N”, 22 years old, and Juan Pablo “N”, 26 years old, for the crime of extortion, possession of firearm and whatever results.
“The arrest of the subjects occurred when police received a report through the 911 emergency number that two armed men had entered an establishment in superblock 74 to extort money from the employees.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the officers realized that on the outskirts of the establishment there was a solitary subject who matched the characteristics of the report, who upon seeing the presence of the units tried to run, but was provisionally secured,” police reported.
“Likewise, employees of the place reported that the other individual was inside, so one of the agents entered the establishment, where an employee pointed out the suspect, who immediately ran away, starting a chase.
“While trying to escape, the suspect threw what appeared to be a firearm onto the roof of a barracks, after which an agent managed to secure it. Given this situation, an inspection was carried out on the suspect who was found with a firearm magazine, supplied with 5 useful cartridges, caliber 9 millimeters.”
