Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a Porsche totaled his car Friday morning in the Cancun Hotel Zone. The single vehicle accident was reported to Cancun Transit shortly after 4:00 a.m.
Police found the totaled car and one felled palm tree at the scene of the crash. The driver is believed to have lost control due to speed and swerved onto the central median where he mowed down a palm tree before bouncing back onto Kukulcán Boulevard.
Emergency personnel found the driver still behind the wheel. He was transferred to hospital from the scene of the accident at Kilometer 3 of the Cancun Hotel Zone. Transit officers did not comment on his condition or possible charges.
