Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun motorcycle driver was killed Wednesday night after colliding with a city transport van. The fatal accident happened at the intersection of José López Portillo and Nichupte Avenues when the driver of the bike slammed into the back of a public combi.
The male driver was thrown from his motorcycle onto the pavement in the middle of the road where he was run over by a second van. The accident happened along a busy city combi route.
Police arrived to confirm the accident while Traffic Agents diverted traffic around the site where the body lay covered in the centre of the road. Accident witnesses told police the driver of the motorcycle was speeding and unable to stop in time when the van slowed to collect roadside passengers.
