Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a private vehicle left their car overturned in the middle of a residential road for Cancun police. City Transit officials found the abandoned car laying on its roof after crashing into two city poles Thursday morning.
The white Kia was seen near SM 96 on Nichupté Avenue around 6:30 a.m. by motorists who reported the accident to emergency services. According to witnesses, the driver slammed into a metal streetlight before taking out a wood Telmex pole. The wood pole was found laying on the street in two pieces.
The driver was then seen getting out of the car, leaving the demolished vehicle behind. Cancun Transit officers are using city surveillance cameras to identify and track down the driver.
