Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun driver died Sunday afternoon after crashing his hatchback into a city light pole. The accident was reported by neighbors in SM 259 after hearing the single vehicle crash.
Emergency vehicles were at the scene of the accident on Margaritas Avenue and Bugambilias Avenue Sunday. The driver was reportedly driving north when he hit the pole. The impact from the hit left his vehicle overturned.
The male driver, who has not been identified, was killed. Responding paramedics found him dead inside his vehicle. Witnesses reported the hatchback was speeding at the time of the crash. City Transit have not provided an official cause for the driver loosing control.
