Cancun, Q.R. — A cyclist was killed Friday night after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. Cancun Transit were sent to SM 96 on Comalcalco Avenue where they found the man laying on the pavement.
Eye witnesses said the victim was crossing Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue when he was struck by a car.
He was thrown several off his bike and landed on the pavement.
The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. with witnesses say the vehicle that hit him was a private car that kept going.
Paramedics arrived and began to treat the man, however, he died at the scene.
Municipal Traffic Department cordoned off the area while they waited for the coroner.
