Cancun customs officials seize four boxes of narcotics arriving from Miami bound for Playa del Carmen

Cancun, Q.R. — Elements of the National Guard seized a large package of narcotics bound for an address in Playa del Carmen. The package, which had arrived from Miami, was located by the National Customs Agency of Mexico.

The packages of marijuana were found during a prevention and inspection tour at the Cancun International Airport facilities. The National Guard reported that authorities located four cardboard boxes “that attracted attention.”

The packages, which arrived on the flight of an international courier and parcel company from Miami were reviewed. Inside, smaller boxes were found with various products with Christmas motifs and toys and around 30 duly wrapped packages which contained marijuana.

The drugs were transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Cancun where the exact weight and type of drug will be determined as well as the corresponding investigation.
