Cancun, Q.R. — A group of seven found in possession of drugs and firearms have been detained from Cancun streets. The arrests were made by the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) in collaboration with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) earlier this week.
On Thursday, the six men and one woman were arrested on 18th Street and Fraccionamiento Bahía Real Street in the irregular invasion zone of the city after police received an emergency 911 report.
The report described six men and one woman, armed and aboard two vehicles, a white Jetta and a beige Ford pickup, with bags of narcotics. When police arrived, they located the seven gathered around the two vehicles, all of whom attempted to escape but were blocked by responding police units.
They were found in possession of four loaded weapons and a large amount of narcotics that included marijuana and cocaine products. Those arrested ranged in age from 21 to 42.
