Cancun, Q.R. — A security nightwatchman was killed over the holiday weekend during an attempted robbery. An unknown number of thieves were reportedly attempting to steal money from an ATM Sunday morning when they saw a nearby company security guard watching.
The men approached and bludgeoned the security guard, who was left to die outside the security booth of the company he worked for. Police responded to the 911 emergency report in SM 21 around 12:30 p.m. on January 1.
They arrived to find the company’s night watchman dead. He was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a hammer. The area was cordoned off while police began to collect evidence from the scene. The victim has not been publicly identified.
