Cancun, Q. R. — A TTE combi driver was handcuffed Friday after colliding with an FGE pickup and then fleeing. The traffic accident happened when the state vehicle carrying two plain-clothed officers was on its way to a crime scene in Prado Norte.
While driving toward Arco Vial around 1:00 p.m., the truck was hit by the driver of a combi after he blew through an intersection stop sign. The unidentified combi driver reportedly ignored police requests to pull over, forcing the FGE driver to finally intercept his public transport unit blocks away from the accident.
Once stopped in Galaxias del Sol, a front seat passenger from inside the combi fled on foot while the plain-clothed officers proceeded to arrest the driver.
