Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun bus company will be held liable for city property damage after one of its drivers felled a pole. On Sunday morning, the driver of the city unit was reportedly speeding along the wet streets when his bus veered onto the sidewalk.
Six passengers were hurt and a CFE pole knocked down during the 9:00 a.m. mishap along Tules Avenue. The accident happened in front of the Center of Municipal Retention or el tortio, the city’s prison.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated six people, including the driver, who had various injuries, although none were considered serious.
Elements of the Traffic Department arrived to question the bus driver and have the unit towed. There was no estimated on the cost of damages.
