Cancun, Q.R. — A staff bus carrying construction workers from a Cancun roadway project caught fire on Colosio Boulevard. Cancun firemen were quick on scene but unable to save the bus.
A mechanical failure left the bus stranded in the right lane of the Boulevard where it began to smoke. Workers aboard the old unit quickly got off as the smoke thickened and flames eventually emerged.
The bus caught fire and was fully engulfed by the time Cancun firemen arrived. There were no serious injuries reported. One person was treated on scene for anxiety and another taken to a clinic to be treated for a sprained ankle in a rush to exit the bus.
