Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun waitress was killed in what is reported to be crossfire between criminal groups. The shooting happened Thursday night at a club in SM 228.

A woman reported to be a waitress at the El Pájaro Azul bar was hit by a bullet during the exchange of gunfire on Kabah Avenue.
According to initial reports gathered by authorities, the altercation started in the bar’s restroom and was carried out into the street.
It is not known at what point, inside or outside of the bar, the waitress was hit. Forensic personnel collected over 20 spent shell casings from the scene.
The deceased woman, who has not been named, is reported to have been the mother of two young children.
The bar waitress was the only person reported injured in the shootout. Police have not announced the arrests of any suspects.
