Cancun authorities rescue two, arrest three in alleged kidnapping

Cancun, Q.R. — Elements of the National Guard in Cancun report the capture of three alleged kidnappers in Region 76. Elements of la Guardia Nacional report the arrest of two men and one woman believed responsible for kidnappings after they found two people tied up in a criminal safe house.

La Guardia Nacional says Wednesday at 10:20 p.m. they arrested Armando N of Tizimín, Yucatán, Armando N of Chiapas and Cristina N, also from Chiapas. The arrests were successfully made after they responded to a call of kidnapping by area neighbors.

When arriving at the address to verify the call, police reported hearing unusual noises. Upon entering the home, they found two men bound at hands and feet. Authorities have since secured the building and have evaluated the victims, who police say, remain under their protection.

The trio are being held on illegal deprivation of liberty charges.
