Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun have arrested Luis “P” on real estate fraud. Over the weekend, Luis “P” was taken into custody on allegations of defrauding an unidentified victim in a fraudulent real estate purchase.
The State Attorney General (FGE) of Quintana Roo says Luis “P” was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant for “allegedly defrauding a person in a real estate purchase and sale operation.”
According to the FGE, Luis “P” sold an apartment to someone that was already sold. In their statement, they reported “the events attributed to him occurred when the victim made the payment for the purchase of an apartment located in Cancun, but when he went to the notary to sign the document that would prove ownership, he was informed that the real estate in question had already been sold.”
