Cancun, Q.R. — An overnight fire in SM 61 has left a Cancun family with significant water damage. The fire started in a nearby palm tree that quickly spread to a home below.

Neighbors reported the burning palm to emergency 9-1-1 who responded by sending city firemen. Once at the address, firemen began to extinguish the 20-mete- tall tree.
Part of the burning tree had fallen to the ground and on a home below, also catching the wood portions of the home on fire. While one firemen sprayed the tree, another was inside the home extinguishing a front section that was also burning.
