Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun are investigating the murder of a hotel guest found stabbed to death. The body of the adult man was found by hotel cleaning staff Thursday afternoon.
City police were at the Cedro Hotel in SM 23 of central Cancun after hotel staff reported finding the body. According to early information, two people, both men, checked into the hotel Wednesday night.
Early Thursday morning, one of them left the hotel telling the front desk the second person was still inside the room sleeping.
Staff finally went to the room around 3:00 p.m. to check on the second guest when they found the body. He was discovered laying under a sheet covered in blood.
According to reports, the man had been stabbed several times. One of the injuries included a deep cut across his neck.
The street was cordoned off by police while evidence was collected and the body removed by the coroner.
