Cancun, Q.R. — The driver of a motorcycle was killed Wednesday after crashing into the back of a city bus. The accident happened early in the morning when the bus stopped at a bus stop in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
Emergency personnel were called to attend to the 2:00 a.m. accident report. At the scene they found the male motorcycle driver laying dead on the road. The accident happened at Kilometer 2 of Kukulcán Boulevard when the bus stopped outside a hotel.
Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle driver speeding when he collided with the back of the bus without slowing down. He hit the back driver’s side at full speed and was thrown from his bike. He was found still wearing his helmet.
The driver of the bus identified as 41-year-old Pedro “P” from the state of Guerrero, was detained for questioning and later released.
