Cancun, Q.R. — A deceased male has been pulled from the Nichupté lagoon in Cancun after an Emergency 911 call of a floating body was made.
Authorities found the body floating near the area of Tajamar Malecon Tuesday evening. Municipal Police, along with Civil Protection and Cancun fire elements, arrived to assist in rescue efforts. Both Civil Protection and firemen were involved in the removal of the body from lagoon waters.
Officials from the State Prosecutor’s Office were on site to collect information from the body who has not yet been identified. The man was lifted from the lagoon missing one hand.
This is the second time in a week that a dead body has been reported in the Nichupté lagoon. Last week, Cancun authorities removed the body of a male who was seen floating by passersby.
