Cancun, Q.R. — Speculation as to the identity of a body found in Cancun Saturday has officially been confirmed. The State Attorney General (FGE) has confirmed the discovery of the body of 30 year old Nataly Montserrat González Barro.
The young veterinarian was last seen December 25 in Cancun and reported as officially missing December 27. She was found deceased on December 28 in a green area across from a residential complex. Search efforts were concentrated in this area after the Alba Protocol (missing person) report was activated.
The Prosecutor’s Office stated that investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the case. Details surrounding her disappearance and subsequent discovery have not been made public.

In a statement, authorities said “the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reports the tragic discovery of the body of Nataly Montserrat “N”, for whom this Public Prosecutor’s Office had issued a missing person alert under the Alba Protocol.
“The body was found in a green area across from the Jardines del Sur 6 housing development, in the municipality of Benito Juárez, with no visible signs of violence.
The lines of investigation are being carried out in accordance with the established “protocol with a gender perspective. Furthermore, this institution reports that it is providing support and comprehensive care to the family during this process.
“The State Attorney General’s Office reiterates its commitment to investigating all evidence gathered to clarify the case.”
