At least a dozen treated for minor injuries in Cancun bus-police cruiser collision

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Transit authorities were at the scene of a city bus crash after it slammed into a state patrol unit. The officer driving the police unit, 34-year-old Freddy “P”, was heading to a central station when it was hit in an intersection.

Cancun paramedics treated more than a dozen bus passengers at the scene. The accident happened at the intersection of Xcaret Avenue and La Costa Avenue.

The driver of the city bus, Félix Manuel “S”, 40, was taken into custody. Both vehicles suffered repairable damage. Bus passengers are reported to have suffered only minor injuries.

Both vehicles, the Autocar bus and the police patrol unit, were sent to a private corral for an investigation.
