Cancun, Q.R. — Arrests have not yet been announced in the shooting death of a Cancun man on Sunday. The man, the driver of a private vehicle, was killed when his car became the target of an attack.
Witnesses who saw the broad daylight assault reported watching as the grey Fiesta was intercepted by armed men who opened fire. Paramedics were called in, however, only one of the two people inside the car survived.
The shooting happened in SM 215 around noon Sunday. The driver was nearing the intersection of Centenario Avenue and Vicente Guerrero Street in the Los Héroes subdivision when the car was shot at.

Police found several bullet holes in the front passenger side of the vehicle. At least three bullets hit the passenger side mirror.
It is not clear who the intended target was, however, it was the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His male passenger was transferred to Cancun hospital in serious condition. According to witnesses, those responsible fled on a motorcycle.
