Tulum, Q.R. — Another fatal shooting was reported in the Ya’ax Tulum subdivision of the town Thursday night. National Guard secured the residential street while police investigated the death of a local man.
According to initial reports, two men inside a vehicle were shot by armed individuals who, according to witnesses, arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire against the car. One of the men died at the scene. The second was transferred to hospital in serious condition.
Neighbors who heard the shots being fired called police. Municipal Police, National Guard and paramedics arrived. The death of one person was confirmed at the scene.
Police did not provide details surrounding the troubled area’s third fatal shooting in less than a month.
