Another Cancun cab driver arrested for narcotics, aggression against Uber

Cancun, Q.R. — Another Cancun taxi driver has been arrested for possession of narcotics. City cab driver Carlos Jesús “N” is also being looked into for aggression against an Uber driver.

On Tuesday, Cancun authorities reported on the arrest of Carlos Jesús “N” for drug dealing after being found with large amounts of marijuana. They also say he interfered with tourists being picked up by Uber in the Cancun Hotel Zone.

“The now detained taxi driver, identified himself as Carlos Jesús “N”, is possibly related to the events in which operators of the Andrés Quintana Roo Taxi Drivers Union prevented a transport vehicle from a digital platform from picking up passengers on Kukulcán Boulevard,” they reported.

“After being arrested on the streets of SM 227, Carlos Jesús “N” was placed at the disposal of the corresponding authority. Within the constitutional term provided, his legal situation will be defined,” they added.
