Cancun, Q.R. — An American man who was arrested at the Cancun International Airport with a weapon and drugs will remain imprisoned during his trial. On Friday, the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in Quintana Roo officially charged the man with weapon and drug offenses.
Earlier this week, Cameron Marcua W was found entering the country with a 9 mm pistol, ammo and marijuana inside his suitcase. The illegal items were found during an inspection in Terminal Four of Cancun International. He is to remain in Cancun prison.
This week, the government of Quintana Roo began reminding visitors that the use of, or trafficking of drugs is illegal in Mexico. Across the state, the Be part of the Solution campaign has been posted for a second time this year.
The campaign warns tourists about illegal activity that could turn their temporary vacation into a permanent stay.
