Cancun, Q.R. — A man of American nationality has been admitted to hospital after attempting suicide on a public thoroughfare. Police and medical personnel responded to the report made to 911 after he was seen on top of a building threatening to jump onto a section of a Cancun roadway.
Authorities responding to the call arrived to find the man had been talked down by staff from the hotel where he was staying. An ambulance was called after the man admitted to having ingested more than a dozen sleeping pills.
He was transferred to a Cancun hospital. He is reported to be a tourist to the area.
