Aggressive Cancun man now facing robbery charges

Cancun, Q.R. — An aggressive man arrested by Cancun police for disobedience is now facing charges of robbery. Victor Yair “N” was arrested Thursday for erratic driving when he cut off a patrolling police unit.

Once stopped, his aggressive attitude got him arrested, however, since then, police say is one of the suspects in the December 10 robbery of 650,000 pesos.

“This subject is involved in an assault where 650,000 pesos was stolen on December 10 in the underground parking lot of Plaza Américas of Cancun. The population is asked to file their corresponding complaint with the authorities if they recognize him,” Cancun police requested in a statement Friday.

“During surveillance tours, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) noticed a vehicle that suddenly and spontaneously passed them, invading the opposite lane in an unusual and apparently evasive way,” the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Q.Roo said.

Once stopped, “the male began to display very aggressive behavior, referring to a series of threats, insults and pushes toward the police for which reason he was detained.”

Police also seized his vehicle. He is believed involved in the recent Plaza Plaza Américas robbery. Authorities have not said how many people they believe were involved
